The Frenchman was was tipped for greatness after he was part of the French team that won the European under-17 Championship.

But his career has stalled since that triumph and the midfielder, now 20, has failed to impress at French Ligue 2 side Istres and Sion of Switzerland.

Which doesn't really make him sound like a world beater!

In other transfer news, Johan Vogel, hotly tipped to become the new Claus Thomsen, is still hopeful of completing his transfer from Real Betis.

Everything appears to be sorted as far as he and Everton are concerned but the Spanish side seem to be putting a spanner in the works.

Betis are only prepared to let the combative midfielder go on a permanent transfer and not as part of a loan deal.

But Vogel's agent, Angelo Semeraro - can't get enough of these foreign agent's names - is hopeful that a compromise can be reached between the two clubs.

Semeraro said: "We are waiting to see if we can agree a deal with Betis. Things have been held up on their side. "

He added: "We have had a good proposition from Everton and I am very optimistic about the move to Everton. Johan is keen to come to England and Everton are in the Uefa Cup next season."
