The Love story (oh the puns are endless with this fella) is probably a non-starter as it's been reported in the News of the World but I couldn't resist the headline so here goes.
The Everton board have apparently been in talks with their counterparts at CSKA Moscow and are looking to bring the Brazilian in on a season long loan.
And, although CSKA will want a permanent deal, in the region of £15 million, Everton seem to have a habit of pulling off these loan deals without too much trouble.
Love would certainly be a welcome addition to the squad…if only to banish the memory of Rodrigo and his dodgy knee!
In other transfer related nonsense, Stepahne M'Bia has pulled a massive u-ey and now wants to leave Rennes and sign for our Beloved Blues.
M'Bia, who missed Rennes 4-4 draw with Marseille yesterday due to being part of Cameroon's Olympic team, has started telling the press how he has already held talks with David Moyes over a £6 million move to Goodison.
M'Bia's international commitments also saw him miss Rennes' epic 10-9 penalty shoot-out win over Tavriya that saw the French club progress to the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup.
But, contrary to last weeks 'look, I'm staying at Rennes' remarks, M'Bia has been quoted as saying: "I want to leave Rennes. Everton are a very established club in the Premier League, managed by David Moyes, a coach who puts trust in youngsters."
Which all sounds very promising but it's anyone's guess how we're going to sort out a deal with him currently living it up in the Olympic village!
And those Alan Smith rumours just won't go away…better just get used to the idea that he's going to be an Everton player next season.
