First it was Atletico Madrid, then it was Real Zaragoza and now it's Villareal!
And Mikel Arteta's agent, the unlikely named Inaki Ibanez, has not ruled out a move back to Spain for his fleet footed charge.
Ibanez has said: "In football you can never discard anything. If I say yes or no, there would be repercussions - so I prefer to see what happens."
He added: "Mikel still has three years left on his current contract and is content. For him, he is not obsessed with returning to Spain - but he would not discard it."
So, no matter how many times the player has come and said he's happy at Everton, something backed up by his agent's quotes, it's stil considered newsworthy that he hasn't actually ruled out the possibility that he might go back to Spain.
Of course he's not going to rule out a move to Spain!
I don't even know why I bother with this rubbish sometimes!
Oh yeah, and Andy Johnson is off to Man United in the summer for some player-plus-cash deal involving, you guessed it, Alan Smith.
Not quite sure where Tim Cahill fits into that rumour though!
