But, according to Sky Sports News our oft-chopped front man is currently having a medical at Fulham.
And Johnson's agent has come out and said that a deal is definitely in the pipeline...which seems obvious given that he's having a medical!
It'll be a shame to lose Johnson as he is a tireless player who scored and created a lot of goals for the Blues over the last couple of seasons.
But, the truth is, his Everton career was on the wane the second Wenger, Warnock et al came out and said, loosely, that he was a cheating little get.
And it was horribly unfair to tarnish Johnson with the same brush as Michael Owen as, I can honestly say, I've not seen Johnson take an unjustified tumble.
In fact some of the challenges that have come his way and have gone unpunished beggar belief...one at Blackburn last season stands out in particular.
But, if and when Johnson does leave, I'm sure everyone wishes him well as he gave nothing more than 100 per cent in every game he played for Everton.
And, unfortunately, he's a nap to score against us on the final game of the season and extend our wretched run at Craven Cottage.
In other news, whilst there's no sign of an immediate replacement for Johnson anywhere on the horizon, it's believed that Sporting Lisbon have rejected Everton's offer for their, now unsettled, captain Joao Moutinho.
The Portuguese midfield man is understood to have said that he wants to leave Sporting for Everton, no, really, but the Lisbon club have rejected an offer of £11.8 million as they want £19.7 million for him.
