The Nigerian international has been out since pre-season with an ankle injury but has been playing for the reserves and is gaining match fitness.
David Moyes Said: "Joseph has done well and has done a lot of running work in the last week."
"We are actually being a little cautious with him now and will probably hold him back and see what the physio says later in the week. But overall Joseph is looking much better and played very well in the reserves, the week before he picked up the ankle injury. So we are hoping now that Joseph has had a settling in period and really now just gets himself in the first team."
Yobo's return is almost certain to be bad news for Alan Stubbs, who would have been hoping to maintain his first team place. However, ne or two mistakes in recent matches are almost certainly going to mean it will be him who makes way for the £5m African.
