Wright wants England recall.

No disrespect to David James, a very talented 'keeper, but he still makes too many mistakes. And David Seaman won't be around for ever. Then there is Paul Robinson, who is a bit of an unknown quantity to me, he looks good though.

Wright said: "I'm very confident I have made the right decision. You can't worry about the past and I still feel it is the right decision.
"I just want to get ready and keep playing first-team football which will help me in the long run for international football.

"Some people ask why didn't I stay at Arsenal and sit behind David Seaman for another year. Well I need to be playing football now. I found it very difficult after playing regular football week in, week out at Ipswich to be sitting on the bench week in, week out, not playing many games when I need to keep my form and give myself a chance with England."

He added: "Every time I cross that line you know that Sven or one of his team will be there or with the TV coverage there will always be an opportunity for him to see you."

Wright is doing well at the moment, and if he keeps this form up he will certainly be considered for an England place, and he has 18 months to do it before Euro 2004.
