Moyes has said: "Alessandro and Richard have both been released, although the door is slightly ajar for Richard in that we may need to bring in another keeper."
Which seems a bit of an odd statement to make as, aside from Wright himself, we currently have three 'keepers on our books with first team experience.
And the fact that Iain Turner was not only recalled from Sheffield Wednesday for the Man United match, but also started ahead of Wright, suggested to everyone that the Pob-lookalike's days were numbered.
But it appears that that might not be the case after all.
One player that is definitely on the move though is Alessandro Pistone.
The Italian full-back has not played for the first team since he went off half an hour into the second game of the 2005/06 season.
Just to put into perspective how long ago that actually was, it was the
1-0 win at Bolton when Marcus Bent scored and gave us our only three points in the opening eight games of that season.
And the injury came just weeks after Pistone had agreed a two-year extension with Everton, something that baffled just about everyone, probably including Pistone himself!
