Wright should have made a save moments before Gary Naysmith handled the ball insid ethe box to give away a spot kick. The penalty was converted by Gilles De Bilde to give the home side their first goal. Substitute Clayton Zane scored their second to send Everton home goalless, although we were rather unfortunate to lose two nil.

“I didn’t think we deserved to lose 2-0,” Said David Moyes. “We had some good play in and around the edge of the box but we didn’t quite kill them off in the first half. “Then I thought we did very well for a 10-15 minute spell in the second-half of the match.”

The match wa somthing off a non event really, with Everton missing skipper Kevin Campbell as well as sustaining a couple of minor knocks to players, Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo was one of the players who suffered. We certainly didn't gain much from the enterprise. One to put behind us methinks.
