Wayne Rooney has told David Moyes he wants to leave Everton. The move comes after Newcastle United upped there offer for the striker to £22m.

Rooney has endured two weeks of tabloid gossip surrounding his provate life, the content of which I have no wish to replicate here. He has told Moyes that he needs to leave the north west, making Newcastle an obvious target for him.

However, the one main snag in the deal could be the money that Newcastle can come up with. It is believed that they have capped their interest at £25m, whereas other reports put the upper limit at £28m. Both of these figures are below Everton's known asking price of £30m.
