Rooney really is injured, so they say!

There is a large amout of doubt in the air regarding the incident, as Rooney played 90 minutes of the game without appearing to be in any pain. David Moyes has made no secret of the fact that he does not want the young striker travelling to South Africa for the game.

"Wayne felt something before half-tine and then he got another knock in the challenge with Blanc," said Moyes "He won't travel to South Africa and he will have a scan in the morning. He is also a doubt for the other matches."

The real twist will come if the FA demand that Rooney be assessed by one of their medical staff, which they are more than likely to do.
