Everton midfielder Seamus Coleman says the Blues will approach Saturday's FA Cup tie at Scunthorpe with caution. The 22-year-old scored the winner against Spurs in the Premier League on Wednesday and was likened by boss David Moyes to Tottenham winger Gareth Bale.
Coleman told BBC Radio Merseyside: "I won't let it go to my head but it's nice to get those compliments.
"Maybe after a win you'd like another Premier League game but we want to advance in the FA Cup."
He continued: "It will probably be one of their biggest games of the season, so we'll not underestimate them."
Like Bale, Coleman has been moved into a a wide midfield position and has been praised for his performances, however, the former Sligo Rovers defender says he will not get carried away by the plaudits.
Coleman continued: "I'm learning it [the position] more every week, but it's a part of my game to have a battle with the left-back and get my head down and try and get past him.
"If I don't get past him the first time I'll go back and try again. But I'm just learning every week.
"With the players we have in the squad you're always just hoping to be in the starting 11. I'm just breaking in and I just want to be in the team and I'd also like to chip in with a few more goals."
