The Toffees midfielder scored in Friday night's 4-1 pre-season friendly victory at Bury and he told reporters after the contest that Europe is a realistic target for his side.
"We've certainly got to aim for it (Europe)," he replied when questioned on what the target should be for Everton this season.
"There's no point in us not aiming for things like that and accepting second best.
"We've had one pre-season friendly and one victory so far but as a group of players we are determined to do as well as we possibly can and we'll do that this season."
Jermaine Beckford left the game with an injury in the second half at Gigg Lane but Osman hopes the knock is nothing to worry about.
He added: "He came off so he's obviously feeling something but hopefully it's not too bad."
