These frustrations are understandable as, should the Blues have a succesful season, they stand to play more games in the 2007/08 season than in any other campaign.
And the shortcomings exposed by our last foray into Europe are still fresh in the mind.
But a bit of perspective is needed as we made our first summer signing, Phil Jagielka, just days after pre-season started and the opening day of the season is still a month away.
But it is a worry nontheless that only one new face has come in, particularly as Everton play their first pre-season games this weekend.
But Moyes has insisted that he is very much on the lookout for the right players and has stated that he, more than anyone, would like to see some new faces around the place.
Moyes has said: "We'd like to add to the squad and I know the supporters are desperate to see new faces coming in, no more so than me, but things out there in the market are tight," he said.
He added: "But we are certainly doing everything we can to strengthen the squad and give ourselves a chance. We've done it that way for the past few years and we'll continue to do so."
One player who could well be on his way to Goodison is Manchester United's Kieron Richardson.
The 22-year-old wide man is out of favour at Old Trafford and is thought to be available for about £4 million.
Which, given that Jason Koumas has just gone for over £5 million, seems a fair price for a current England international.
But he is one of those players that just doesn't seem to produce the goods (whatever that means) often enough.
But the fact that he can play at either left wing or left back, here we go, will no doubt impress Moyes as he does seem to have a keen eye for the versatile guy.
One player that definitely won't be signing on for the Blues is David Nugent.
Though he often stated his desire to play for the Blues, Preston's £6 million price tag put Everton off.
The 22-year-old striker finally left Deepdale yesterday when he put pen to paper on a contarct with Portsmouth.
