The Nigeria international has struggled with injuries ever since he required surgery on a knee problem after a tackle by Kevin Nolan in a match against Newcastle in February 2009. That operation kept Anichebe out for almost a year and in the last two seasons he has made just 30 appearances, all of which have come from late November onwards.
However, the 23-year-old has been fully involved in Everton's tour of the United States, and Moyes told the Liverpool Echo: "Victor has got great potential. A lot of people in the USA seeing him for the first time will have said 'Wow, what a player'. We know all about him. He is a very good player."
He added: "He has had a few injuries but if he can get rid of those injuries then he has attributes which you cannot buy.
"He has great strength, great pace, power, athleticism and he took his goal really well."
