Metalist gear solid

According to the official site, the runway at Kharkiv is not eqipped to take a large charter aircraft and so the club are looking at alternative travel arrangements.

The bad news is that the nearest international airport to Kharkiv (or Kharkov, depending upon what you're reading) is 230 kilometres away in the, frankly unpronouncable, city of Dnepropetrovsk.

Which would make things fun at the train station when you're asking for your return ticket!

And the 'alternative' travel arrangements that the club are talking about conjour up images of Jonathan Harker's horse and carriage trip to Transylvania at the start of Dracula...which would certainly make for an interesting away day!

And, just as (yet another) aside, I garnered the information regarding Khariv's nearest international airport from www.international-marriage-broker.com, where it says there are currently in excess of just 280 Ukranian women in Kharkiv.

So any Blues going there on the pull, unlikely but you never know, will definitely have their work cut out for them.

And, if they do get lucky, there's a good chance that she'll rob your passport and demand your hand in marriage before she'll give you it back!

But, looking at this list, it's doubtful that anyone would care whether they got their passport back or not!

Anyway, in other UEFA Cup ticket news, any season ticket holders wanting to secure their usual seat for the first leg of the tie had better get a wriggle on as tickets are only on sale exclusively to season ticket holders until Tuesday September 11th.

Tickets are priced at a very reasonable £15 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Evertonia members can get their tickets on September 12th and 13th and they are priced at the, still reasonable, £18 for adults and £8 for concessions.

The same prices apply when the tickets go on general sale from Friday September 14th.

Tickets can be purchased via dial-a-seat on 0870 442 1878, the e-ticketing system or from the Park End box office.
