His knee problem nearly ended his career at Man Utd, and he had been suffereing some slight soreness having played again for Everton recently. However, the problem is not serious.
"I think Jesper just wanted some reassurance and to be honest, I would be amazed that someone who had been out for two years with a knee injury didn't have some soreness once he started playing again," said Walter Smith.
"He'll be back this week with us and I expect him to be available for the cup tie with Leyton Orient. When you consider how many games Jesper has played and how hard he has trained a reaction is only to be expected."
