Injury update

The Everton centre-back, and player of the season surely, will travel to London tomorrow and go under the knife of Dr Andy Williams.

No trips to Colorado to see Dr Richard Steadman for Jagielka, oh no, that quack obviously pissed on his chips when he said he couldn't perform surgery on James Vaughan because he'd broken his arm.

Or maybe he saw that it was Vaughan again and said he couldn't perform sodding miracles!

Everton physio Mick 'Baz' Rathbone is delighted that Phil 'Jags' Jagielka can undergo surgery so soon as he can then start his recovery and, hopefully, not miss too much of next season.

Rathbone said: "We're going to London tomorrow and he will undergo surgery on Wednesday morning. We've checked him out and he is obviously very upset. But he's philosophical, he's looking to get the operation out of the way now and looking forward to day one of the recovery process.

He added:"I can't wait until the operation is done on Wednesday and I go and visit him on Thursday morning and it's day one of the recovery we can start counting down until when he plays again."

What he didn't say was that he was also delighted that Dr Andy 'Crooner' Williams was going to operate instead of Dr Richard 'Shithouse' Steadman...but he probably thought it!

Everyone is obviously gutted for Jagielka as it must've been devastating for him, particularly as he scored the winning penalty against Man United.

And has anyone known such a ridiculous season for injuries?

In addition to the ususal knocks and illnesses we've now lost our top centre half, our top midfielder and our top striker for large parts of the season and all of them have been due to awkward turns and not bad fouls!

And we're still going to qualify for Europe and could well lift the FA Cup...madness, but in a good way!
