Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta believes he is getting back to his best form after the Blues victory over Sunderland on Saturday. The 28-year-old Spaniard was instrumental in the 2-0 win, setting up Jermaine Beckford for the second goal at Goodison Park.
"When you have expectations on you it's hard," he told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"But I've kept working and now I'm finding my form and I'm feeling confident now."
He added: "I think for creative players it's even harder. I was trying hard but some things don't go the way you want them to."
The victory over the Black Cats also gave Everton their sixth clean sheet in the Premier League this season, but Arteta says his team did not have the match all their own way.
"I wouldn't say it was comfortable because before we scored they had a chance to score themselves.
"But I think it made a big difference when Becks [Jermaine Beckford] scored the first one, and the second makes the game much easier.
"It was a good performance and we needed that after the game at Chelsea and [we needed to use] the confidence we got from it. So hopefully we're back on it now," he concluded.
