The centre-back, who is 30 in November, is entering the final 12 months of the five-year deal he signed when he joined from Atletico Madrid for £6million in 2009. Having had a poor season and been behind Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin in terms of selection for central defence the Dutchman thinks now is maybe the time for the club to move him on.
"If they want to earn something for me, this is the moment," he told Voetbal International.
"I have made no arrangement with the club about that. I will just wait and see what happens."
Heitinga found himself in a similar position last summer only for interest from Fenerbahce to disappear after he claims the Toffees priced them out of the transfer.
"Everton asked too much and the deal collapsed," he added.
