Falkirk 0 - 3 Everton

The First trophy under David Moyes stewardship was won at Brockville last night as the Blues beat Falkirk 3-0 in the Alex Scott Memorial Trophy in front of 2,175 faithful followers of Falkirk and a good few hundred Evertonians who made the journey up north to see their favorites.

The teams made there way on to the park to the strains of the Champions league music, quite ironic, as the Manchester United match was live on TV!
The crowd was really excited and up for the match despite their team being relegated to the second division, mind you this may have something to do with the noise from the away end who sang their way through the match from start to finish.

I had the good fortune to speak to a few Evertonians at the match including James, Andrew and Tommy who traveled up on the Independent Everton Supporters bus, these guys are the salt of the earth and if Everton had a walking directory then I met them last night, everything and anything you ever wanted to know about Everton then these were the guys you must speak to!
The match itself was played in a good competitive way and in effect it was over as a contest by half -time.

The goals went in as follows;

1-0 Good cross from Tal was headed in by Kevin Campbell (19 mins)

2-0 Unsworth through ball collected by Jesper Blomqvist who rounded the keeper to score (33 mins)

3-0 Nice play between Radzinski and Pembridge resulted in the
Welshman scoring the third (42 mins)

The excitement didn't end there as a streaker entered the arena as the half-time whistle blew and after a few slips of the security he was eventually caught by one of the Falkirk top suits!

The second half had chances for both sides but no more scoring and so Everton went on to lift the Alex Scott Memorial Trophy for the first trophy of hopefully many that David Moyes' lads will win.

All had a good night but I wonder how many Evertonians will still be left in various water holes in Falkirk and the surrounding area!!
A big thank-you to David Moyes for bringing his squad to Scotland and also those Everton fans who enjoyed themselves and put a smile on my face with their stories of the Blues.
