Everton set to sign new 'keeper.

Gerrad could be the man to make way for Shearer.

The 21 year old has been with Everton for a week, working with former England international and Everton goalkeeping coach Chris Woods. He is thought to want to move to Everton, although any deal woul have to wait until the transfer window opens in January.

Rovers boss Peter Hetherston said: "Four or five major clubs are watching Scott. But this is not a trial week for him, it is a coaching week. He is going down so that Chris Woods can work with him."

Tottenham are believed to be the other Premiership club who are chasing Shearer.
