"When you look at it, four points from the past two games isn't too bad," said Coleman. "But we need to start turning those draws into wins.
"The main thing for us is to turn our chances into goals and we'll be getting up the table."
The point gained at Upton Park, along with Liverpool's 1-0 defeat by Wolves on Wednesday, leaves Everton 11th in the league table on 22 points.

But while Everton dominated possession against the Londoners, and made more than twice as many successful passes, they failed to create many clear cut chances.
Coleman, who scored the equaliser against the Hammers, acknowledged the Blues should have taken more from the match.
"Looking at the game their keeper Robert Green was their man of the match," said the 22-year-old Irishman.
"So it shows that we should have got three points, but it wasn't to be. We were on top a lot, but at times when we attacked we gave the ball away and let them break and were lucky not to concede a goal ourselves."
The Blues meet Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on New Year's Day, hoping to extend their current unbeaten run to five matches.
"Going away to Stoke is always going to be tough as they're a physical team," Coleman said. "But once again we'll be going there for three points."
