The former Chelsea and Leeds man has beenbrought in to secure some investment over the summer, a task he has performed very well at his previous two clubs.
"Trevor has an unparalleled reputation, with a far-reaching understanding of football as a sport and as a business," said deputy chairman Bill Kenwright.
It is also rumoured that Bill Kenwright could take over from Sir Phillip Carter as chairman.
