After weeks and weeks of putting off putting pen to paper, and revelations that he was seriously considering moving on during the summer, he has finally signed a five-year deal with the club.
This will come as a relief to some but not to others as, already on the Radio Merseyside phone-in, the phrases 'tactically naïve', 'dithering' and 'taken us as far as he can' have been uttered by Angry from Allerton and Brassed off from Broad Green quicker than you can say Per Kroldrup!
Moyes said upon signing his new deal:"There have been many different things for different reasons but we are here now and the big thing for me is that I am at Everton, as far as I am concerned, for another five years and the job is to make us better than we have been.."
He added: "I am really excited and really pleased. I am pleased for everybody - I'm pleased for myself and my family who were desperate to get it signed and secured and it is always what I wanted to do."
One question I do have though is why does the official site keep using that picture of Moyes? The one where he's glancing over his shoulder and appearing to be faintly smug about himself and looking, in a strange way, a bit like the crazy frog? No, not Arsene Wenger, the other, less irritating, one!
And that leads me on to my only other question which is, now that the contract drama is all sorted, are we going to go out and web Arsenal everywhere on Saturday?
