Bit of a round up

So I'm looking to slightly rectify the situation right now with a quick round up in a feature I could have called Blues News but didn't.

Heritage Week

Everton Heritage Week kicked off on Sunday 25th March as the David France Collection went on display at Goodison.

The free exhibition was said to have been a huge success and several fundraising schemes were set up around the exhibition.

The most high profile of these was the exhibition match between Everton and Barcelona legends.

About 7,000 people turned up to watch the blues go down 3-5, but you can't help feeling that it would have been watched by at least a few more had the club not scheduled the game on the same night as England played Andorra!

Speaking of which, how many people switched off as soon as Andy Johnson came off?

Or did you stay tuned to see how his replacement next season, David Nugent, looked?

Which leads me nicely on to...

Johnson's off to London

Arsenal and Tottenham are both lining up summer swoops for Everton's England striker Andy Johnson.

So claimed some daily rags, hot on the heels of stories that our diminutive hitman was unsettled 'oop norf' and wanted to move back 'darn sarf'.

Obviously, both player and club were quick to deny the stories but it's going to be one of those 'wait-and-see' situations as the papers won't let go of this one as the summer approaches.

Maybe he needs to move to a bigger club to further his game and his career?

Well, it worked for the fat lad didn't it?!

And on the subject of fat lads...

van der Meyde spits another dummy

I really should work for Radio City with seamless links like that...I'm thinking one of Kev 'Seedy' Seed's sychophants.

Anyway, Andy van der Meyed, our wide wideman and enigman extrordinaire,
was upset by reports that he missed the Arsenal match through injury as, for once, he was fully fit.

Moyes has come out and said that he never suggested that van der Meyde was injured, he presumably just thought that he'd be a bit of a liability against a fast paced side like Arsenal.

Chances are that van der Meyde will be back in Itlay as soon a June arrives.

And, speaking of transfers...

Naysmith looks North

Gary Naysmith has been linked with a move to Celtic...no sorry, Rangers, yes, Rangers need a new left back.

Walter Smith told Ally McCoist to get his arse on the Ibrox PC and get Champ Manager loaded sharpish as the Gers need a left back.

A Scottish one.

With no pace.

And whose head bobs like a pigeon when he does try to run.

But he must be a '100 per center'.

A glitch in the programme threw up Alessandro Pistone to which Smith, apparently, said:

"Feck that! I've already been stung once with him...how's young Naysmith getting on these days?!"
