This weeks Everton column is split into three parts as the headline
suggests.
The Good- This weekend's Testimonial for David Unsworth.
The Bad-The injuries to Jo Yo and Big Dunc.
The Ugly-The trouble in Brussels.
I will start with the trouble in Brussels. I cannot understand how and why this happened! The Blues fans have just been to Scotland and enjoyed themselves with no hint of trouble. So why then was there trouble before and after the match? If you remember they didn't even want any Everton fans in Belguim in the first place! By all accounts there was more than a hint of intimidation by the Anderlecht fans and maybe the policing was not of the standard expected by the support and the officials that travelled with the team.
Hopefully this will be the last time that this kind of thing happens at an Everton match abroad, or could it just be that the nightmare of our neighbours travels there has come back to haunt us! Just to make things worse Everton's unbeaten pre-season came to an end and after a good 2-0 result at Wrexham we lost by the same scoreline in Brussels.
The Bad being the injuries to Joseph Yobo and Duncan Ferguson. I really do hope that these two players make it for the start of the Premiership season. David Moyes hopes that Joseph will make it in time for the weekend but we shall have to wait and see.
The Good -David Unsworth's Testimonial v Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
After some good times and some near exits from the Premiership David
gets a well deserved testimonial this Saturday for his efforts in a Blue shirt over the years,he has given his all for the cause.
Although David was a Manchester United fan as a boy soon became a blue at heart when he saw what it meant to the blue half of Merseyside when you pull on a blue shirt.
Rhino has enjoyed the good times and the bad during his time at
Goodison but he has always fought back no matter what, even when he looked to be signing for Aston Villa he took his wife's advice and
rejoined "The People's Club" on Merseyside, good judgement Mrs U!
May I and thousands of other Evertonians wish David all the very best
For Saturday and the rest of the season enjoy it to the full, I am just sorry I will not be there in person to see your big day.
Never mind Andy and Tommy will give me a full report and I will dig out the away jersey for the day! Have a Great Day Rhino and all Evertonians!
