Everton came back from two goals but lost the match to a Dion Dublin goal 6 minutes from time in a pulsating match at Villa Park.
Lee Hendrie put the home side in front after a cute chip caught recalled Richard Wright off his line.Villa pressed for a second and got it just after the break when again Hendrie scored as he shot high passed Wright to make it 2-0.It must be said that the marking on the second goal was nothing short of disgraceful as Hendrie was given the time and space to score, come on lads sort it out ! You would have thought that Villa would have gone on to score a barrowload but the match turned and a superb turn and shot by Radzinski gave the visitors new hope and they were the team in the accendacy now and it was no surprise when they equalised.
A Gravesen corner was headed into the net by Campbell to make it 2-2 and only one team was going to win this match now...oh hang on here comes Dion Dublin change that last comment ! Yes that's right Big Dion swooped fastest in the box to give Villa the win in truth the didn't deserve but maybe after Monday's result v Birmingham and all the flak Peter and his team-mates had to take well I think God had his Villa scarf on that day.....he was me thinking he was a St.Mirren fan too ! Well that performance proves that we can play for 45 minutes or when we are two down !
Anyway good-luck to Villa and I know one fan who was happy on the day my boss Mike had a beaming smile when I told him of this Shocking scoreline still Everton will still be above them at the end of the season ! This weekend the Blues take on Fulham at home in what should be a cracker of a match.Fulham have been playing well this season and after last week I think we must win this one,we cannot afford to lose to many matches as it all comes back to haunt you at the end of the season. The good news is that Joseph Yobo has come through a reserve match and may play in this one .....good ! Steve Watson may miss out because he is injured,he jarred his groin in the same match as Yobo played in take it easy Steve !
The big news for Everton this week is that the club have unveiled plans for a 9 million state of the art Academy which will be one of the best in European Football. This will be built on the outskirts of Liverpool in the city's Halewood district. This is great news for the club as we could see another few Wayne Rooney's coming through the ranks and also it may save the club a few bob on transfer fees !!
It was a joke honest Bill ! Other News Ex Everton full back Alec Clelland may be set for a move to Livingston as reports suggest he has been training with the club and may be offered a contract . Two things before I go Thanks to Mr Souness for his good wishes for my Dad last week much appreciated. Also I am sorry that I missed my two pals Andrew and Tommy last week they had come up to Scotland to see a match and they popped in to surprise me nice one lads I'll see you both soon for some good Everton chat. Come On You Blues .....!
